Introducing Roy Tuscany, CEO & Founder of the High Fives Foundation

Roy Tuscany is the founder and CEO of the High Fives Foundation, a nonprofit organization based in Truckee, California. Originally from Vermont, Roy pursued a career as a professional free-skier after earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Vermont. In 2006, he suffered a life-altering injury during a ski jump, resulting in partial paralysis. This experience inspired him to establish the High Fives Foundation in 2009, aiming to support athletes recovering from life-changing injuries by providing resources and hope.

The High Fives Foundation has empowered 939 athletes across 47 states, territories, and Canada, funding over 1,600 grants. The foundation offers programs like the Empowerment Fund, Military to the Mountain, and adaptive sports camps, focusing on activities such as skiing, surfing, biking, and more.

Roy's dedication to helping others overcome adversity has made a significant impact in the adaptive sports community, turning personal tragedy into a mission of empowerment and resilience.
